Lunar Mare
The lunar maria (mare)are large, dark, basaltic plains on Earth’s Moon, formed by ancient volcanic eruptions. Early astronomer found it on the moon, thought that it was the ocean on the moon. Coastline is a connection between land and ocean, the shape of coastline was affected by tides, and tides effected by the moon.
In China, people use moon and ocean to express the emotion of homesick. Therefore, I choose the conception of Lunar Mare to represent my work. I grew up in the coastal region of China, coastline make me feel safe wherever I am, coastline is my everyday life. As time goes by, coastline changed, the shape of coastline is the trace of time.
In this installation, left side is stones from coastline, the right side is seascape of coastline. The image will be eroded while watching it, as shape of coastline, these images will be eroded by the time.

Underpressure

This work attempts to present an experience of existence and explore the equilibrium relationship between matter and consciousness through using mobilization of sense perception. The content of the video is composed of physical activities of materials with different forms and states. They are merging or dispersing. The sound is generated by listening to a human body directly with an electronic stethoscope connected to a filter rather than through air as a medium. It consists of breathing, heart beats and humming.
